Die voestalpine hat beim vielleicht wichtigsten europäischen Webranking, dem FT 500 Webranking, eine tolle Wertschätzung erhalten. Der Champion unseres Smeil Award 2014 ( Smeil 2014: Börsenblogger und voestalpine siegen ) landete als einziger Österreicher unter den Top100 und damit auch vor etlichen Unternehmen, die gemäss Umsatz oder Market Cap um ein Vielfaches grösser sind. Vor allem: Die "internationalen Linzer" haben  vs. Vorjahr 110 Ränge gutgemacht. Eine grosse Anerkennung für das Unternehmen. Auch die OMV ist zu erwähnen: Rang 116.

"As published by Forbes, the 18th annual edition of Webranking has evaluated the largest 500 European companies by market capitalisation, revealing some new developments about the seven Austrian corporations included in the ranking. The research is conducted by Swedish consultancy Comprend (digital division of Hallvarsson & Halvarsson) in collaboration with Lundquist. 

Voestalpine is the only Austrian company that managed to make the top 100 positions in the Webranking Europe 500 and to pass the “stress test” of corporate transparency and stakeholder dialogue by breaking the 50-point threshold. The steel company finished in 81^st position with a score of 51.3 out of 100 and was also the best Austrian improver, gaining 11 points and jumping 110 positions.

Further behind was the best Austrian company from last year, oil company OMV Group, with 47.2 points in 116^th position and the bank Erste Group with 45.3 points in 140^th, both companies slipping down more than 20 positions in the ranking.

Webranking as a transparency stress test
Comprend’s Webranking research is the most well known analysis of corporate and financial communications in Europe. Based on stakeholder needs – tracked through annual surveys – the research evaluates companies’ ability to distinguish themselves in an increasingly competitive environment and how they respond to external information requests. The companies that pass this stress test demonstrate an ability to govern their reputation in digital channels: they create an opportunity to build a “premium” status with key stakeholders, which can facilitate access to capital and business markets, help attract the best talent and build capacities for better handling reputational crises. 

Joakim Lundquist, Head of Comprend in Austria, Italy and Switzerland, commented: “The research measures the fundamentals of online corporate communications and dialogue on digital channels, based on stakeholder demands. Failing the stress tests implies a company does not use digital communication as a strategic tool for reputation".
